MINI-DR (MDR) DESKTOP CRYOGEN-FREE DILUTION REFRIGERATOR
The tabletop cryogen-free dilution refrigerator (DR) is a compact, high-performance cooling solution
designed for research in low temperature physics and quantum technologies. Utilizing a fully closed-cycle
dilution unit, the system achieves base temperatures below 50 mK without the need for liquid helium,
ensuring ease of operation and minimal maintenance.
Engineered to fit a limited space in laboratory environments, the cryostat features a small footprint
and low vibrations, making it ideal for tabletop or mobile setups. The tabletop DR offered by Cryogneic
provides easy sample access and rapid cooldown times, robust thermal anchoring and low electronic
noise in a stable environment.
The sample space is 60 mm in diameter and 60 mm high situated above the gold plated surface of
sample mounting plate to be easy accessible by the system user. The distance between the table surface
and sample mounting surface allows the system user to keep elbows on the table for delicate sample
exchange. The mounting plate is equipped with an micro-D connector for 12x twisted pairs for customer
measurements. The sample mounting plate is fully customizable including such features as reserved
sample area, pattern and sizes of mounting holes, and reserved area for future upgrades with coaxial
cables.
This system includes:
- Tabletop cryogen-free cryostat (with integrated DR) utilising the cooling power of Sumitomo pulsetube cryocooler; Cryocooler is operated with a watercooled Sumitomo helium gas compressor.
- The removable 0.5 T superconducting magnet provides a stable and uniform magnetic field. The cryostat structure provides magnet current leads and thyristor magnet protection.
- Automated Gas Handling System (GHS) for storage, cleaning and circulating 3He-4He mixture of DR and also 4He for 1 K pot.
- Electronics rack: The temperature controllers to operate the system (by default Lakeshore 372 resistance bridge/temperature controller, and Lakeshore 336 temperature controller). Superconducting magnet power supply to operate 0.5 T magnet. System computer with LabView software for system operation.
